One of my favourite rock songs of the year is Courtney Barnett’s punchy Pedestrian At Best.

It is the lead single from the Australian singer-songwriter’s second album called Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.

Barnett’s singing style could be described as deadpan. Musically, she reminds me of The Breeders and Liz Phair.

In Pedestrian At Best, she unleashes a witty stream of diatribes and contradictions. Notions of self-doubt and anxiety never sounded so good!

You can check out her website here.

Enjoy!
